Dear Members & Followers of ICSN,
For the last five years, I have been in and around ICSN. From the outside looking in, I knew that there was a lot of work put in to the running the organisation. It’s not until I joined the executive team for the first-time last year, that I truly realised the amount of time and dedication required to keep ICSN ticking. With this in mind, firstly, I would like to pay homage to all those who have served as an ICSN exec in the past. Without their hard work and dedication ICSN would not be where it is today.
It is an honour and a privilege to be leading a great team of individuals with different skill sets. My aim is to bring those skills together to serve our members and the wider Igbo community. We have many ideas and work has already started to bring these ideas to life.
‘Oge adighi eche mmadu’ – They say time waits for nobody. I believe ICSN cannot afford to stand still. We must continue to press on and push this great organisation forward. No one person can do everything but everyone can do something. It is in all our interest to keep the fire of ICSN burning.
In the next 12 months, we want to:
•Promote the Igbo language more than ever, encouraging people to learn and attempt to speak. We want ICSN to be an environment where people are free to try and speak without being laughed at.
•Build more business relationships. These will ultimately benefit our members and ICSN in the long run.
•Have a seat at the table when issues regarding ndi Igbo are being discussed. We have so many skilled individuals within our organisation. Our voices must be heard to help the development of Igboland
•Help develop young Igbos aged 13-18yrs. It is important to keep our younger brothers and sisters motivated and engaged with all aspects of our culture.
I truly believe that with the help of our members and followers we can achieve all that I have stated and more. We need our members to be engaged and to share their ideas with us. We need our followers to join the organisation and become members. Each tenure can only dream big for ICSN because of the opportunities that have manifested due to previous tenures. We want to continue breaking barriers and creating new opportunities so that future tenures can take ICSN to further heights.
The team and I are looking forward to serving you all for the next 12 months.
