On 19th July 2009 three of our very own ICSN executive ladies ran the ‘Race for Life’ 5K Run in London’s Hyde Park. In preparation for the race the girls trained for hours and they sought sponsorship from members to help raise money for Cancer Research UK.

The original line up was all of the ICSN ladies, but sadly due to unforeseen circumstances, some members had to pull out before the race at the last minute. Only Ginika Ezugwu, Nneka Opara and Precious Jasons’ were able to run the race and complete it in flash record time! This was Nneka Opara and Precious Jasons’ first competitive race and they did ICSN proud.

Ginika with several marathons under her belt managed to complete the 5K run in a spectacular 17 minutes and 35 seconds! When asked to comment about how she felt about completing the race she said, “no be small thing at all!”

Well done girls for all your efforts, we salute you!

A BIG THANK YOU to all those who went down to Hyde Park to give the ladies support. You are appreciated.
